Gimme Moore. Much Moore!

Stanton Moore is a skin whacker who brings big smiles to lovers of the John Bonham sound. This guy is versatile and runs mostly as the beat for Galactic, a funk/blues concoction out of New Orleans. Funk is back folks. The dreary cults of death have been pushed back a little by the sunshine and nothin sunnier than funk. Moore has all the accuracy of a Neil Peart but with some heart and verve. always liked Neil, but technocrats don't stir the soul, put the groove down. Moore and Co. do a cover of Zep's Whole Lotta Love that could only be done with this kind of drumming. Lets take Moore to a seance and see if we can  unearth Keith Moon for tot or two.

Bang Those Skins!

So, could it be that drummers, those drug and alcohol fueled shooting stars that flash in and out of the sky so quickly are coming back as stars in their own right?

Silver, Rubies and Gold

I once had a cup. I found it near near my doorstep, not far away, past another door. I had seen this cup but not its encrustations. It was covered in rubies, diamonds, sapphires of all kinds yet it didn't seem all that precious. And then I drank from it.

I drank from the cup and yet shrank from its glow. I filled it with balsam then drank from it again. It was bottomless. The more I filled it, the more it shimmered in the night. Its twinkle shamed the stars.

I drank and drank and drank and drank until I thought that it had lost its sparkle and charms. I looked at it for a while. Then I threw it away.

The wizard came to me tonight, with diamonds and rubies and smoke and a red glow that only the cremated know. He blew ash at me and sang wild songs, songs of orchards and leaves and dogs leaving fur in the nooks of branches and brambles. His coat was bright with color and full of symbols of the cosmos and hell under the dirt. "Toke with me," he said. "Watch my glowing bowl and scream at Polaris" he said. I bent to him a match.

Rasputin Would Not Agree

I woke up this morning with a bad hangover
And my penis was missing again
This happens all the time
It's detachable
This comes in handy a lot of the time
I can leave it home when I think it's going to get me in trouble
Or I can rent it out when I don't need it

But now and then I go to a party
Get drunk
And the next morning I can't for the life of me
Remember what I did with it
First I looked around my apartment
And I couldn't find it
So I called up the place where the party was
They hadn't seen it either
I asked them to check the medicine cabinet

But not this time
So I told them if it pops up to let me know.

I called a few people who were at the party
But they were no help either
I was starting to get desperate

After a few hours of searching the house
And calling everyone I could think of
I was starting to get very depressed
So I went to the Kiev and ate breakfast.

I saw my penis lying on a blanket next to a broken toaster oven
Some guy was selling it
I had to buy it off him
He wanted 22 bucks but I talked him down to 17
I took it home
Washed it off
And put it back on
I was happy again
